Parties, Engagements and Weddings...Plural!!

Well....I have come to the part of my life where I now have 2 children engaged and planning weddings in the near and distance future!!

It is a real exciting time in their lives as they follow their hearts and wishes for the perfect wedding and married life beyond that.

I have the pleasure of planning at least one of these weddings, as my eldest daughter is getting married in March 2012...my son is getting married in 2013, and maybe if I'm lucky I will be able to help out with that as well...but first things first!!

Planning can be fun or it can be stressful...I'm going for fun!!

Firstly, the engagement party for my daughter...retro inspired, rock'n'roll, 50's party theme...fun!!

I have been looking and buying things from all sorts of websites, that we need for the party and have found some rippers!! I'm not giving away too much...until after the event when I will post photos, but I will give an excellent website of some fun party gear...not only for engagements or weddings, but kids and adults alike....

Till next time

Stay safe

Secret Stitching...

Over the past few weeks I have been busy stitching together a quilt to go off to 'Country Threads", so therefore can't show you any pictures, but it looks really good! I can say if you like applique you will enjoy it and if you like the colour purple and green, then you might just have to make it. So as soon as I can show you pictures I will, but look out for it in 'Country Threads" magazine sometime this winter!!

Jane's Roses...

Had a lovely lunch on Sunday with all the family at my sister-in-law's house and sitting on the table in a glass vase were these beautiful pink roses...I just had to take a photo of them...

"Dandelion Fields Quilt"

Wow...I had no idea it had been so long since I last wrote something on my blog...just goes to show how busy I've been lately....

I have just finished a quilt called "Dandelion Fields", using Saffron Craig's fabrics, a good Aussie girl's fabric designs... yeh! for local designers!! It has beautiful hot pink parrots and gorgeous bright yellow flowers...the colour combination - stunning!!

It is just a simple design, but it's striking when it is all put together and only took a few days to complete!!

I am also ready to submit my latest design to "Country Threads" magazine...so look out for it in coming months...a little different, but if you like applique and all things country...I think you will like it....

Now....what to stitch next....

Completely Surrounded...

There is nothing better than being completely surrounded by things that give you pleasure...and help you create...mine just happens to be my sewing room...and my fabric collection...

Just to buy a small amount of fabric...to add to the collection....

To have buttons that are colour co-ordinated like a rainbow....

"The Conservatory" Quilt

I love this quilt that I have just finished. The fabrics were designed by Laura Gunn and the quilt was designed by Sarah Fielke. I made this quilt top in 3 days while I was on holidays...I was on a mission to get a least one quilt top made...mission accomplished! The fabrics are of a beautiful quality and I really enjoyed making it. The technique of piecing all those triangles took some patience but I think it paid of in the end...a great result! I'm really pleased!

My parcel of fabrics arrives in the mail...excited!!

My favourite fabric in the range...

And the cutting begins...

All the triangles joint together...

"Moulin Rouge" Finished...

I have finished my "Moulin Rouge" quilt and it looks great...nice and bright and very colourful...I added a few little blackbirds to the quilt on one side to give the quilt an accent...
